Election day. The finish line looms. Iowa takes 2,095,581 registered voters, the most ever, into today's election potential. Almost 1 million have already voted. Another million are in position to vote today. Final call.
Since the primaries in June, Republican registrations have climbed faster than, and surpassed, Democratic registrations. Independent registrations went down before the primaries because unaffiliateds can’t vote in the primaries.
That's where things stand, polls aside.

I'm so sorry I didn't hear about this sooner. Jon, what I remember most about you, as you sheparded the MSJ 93 (fall) class to action, is your calm, steady, and reasurring voice. It's still up there in my head today--a voice of reason in a sea of chaos. Good luck!
Thanks for posting this, Jack.

I am one very lucky young lady. I get to call Jon my uncle, and though he was never a professor of mine, he helped shaped my future as a journalist and pushed me to realize my dreams and my goal. I am lucky to have him in my family, but also quite jealouse that he was never my professor.
Thank you, everyone, for taking the time and effort to let my Uncle Jon know how much he means to you, it means the world to me!
